Maiduguri Humanist Mutual Aid (Nigeria)

Maiduguri Humanist Mutual Aid was established in 2019 in the city Maiduguri, in northern Nigeria. The region suffers from the terorism of Boko Haram and the members of group need to be Anonymous for their security.

Maiduguri Humanist Mutual Aid has conducted numerous humanitarian activities. Examples include:

World Peace Internet Cafe - offers free computer training to orphans, refugees, and widows. HGC Ice Cream Factory (staffed by 4 refugee widows) Shelter for 120 Almajiri (abandoned children) Blankets, Vaseline, Mosquito Nets, food and water barrels for refugees and Almajiri Sustainability project grants for widows and single mothers Tarpaulins for IDPs to keep them dry Tuition fees for Maiduguri humanists Medical and surgery bills paid for refugees Tuition paid for orphans enrolled in school Black Panther Free Breakfast for Almajiri Delivered clothes from anonymous USA designer to 100+ almajiri, orphans, and refugees

Income from the World Peace Internet Cafe helped fund the projects listed above.

Money gained also help build the Maiduguri Safe House where six ex-Muslim humanists live. Their faces are blurred in the photo below for security reasons.

Owners of the World Peace Internet Cafe have also provided Critical Thinking workshops to students at Loster Kiddies college, Imran Model School and Abba Bukar Memorial School.
