For the past three months (July – September, 2020), the trainees engaged in intensive and pragmatic pastry trainings on pancakes, chin-chin, fish and meat pies, puff rolls, peanuts and hamburger, bread, dough nuts, salads varieties, coconut sweets, cakes; - banana, and milk cakes, and other lucrative dishes like fried rice were taught inclusively to the girls and young women. The 15 trainees all graduated and were issued end of course certification. The end of course take home words were; ‘‘to create jobs for themselves as well as others so as to boost employability for better livelihoods and gender equality’’.

No major challenge was faced so far except of the numerous persons who showed up but were rejected due to limited space for training, and other limited resources. Thank you again for such empowerment thru our organization.

HGC Sponsors Pastry Workshop for At-Risk Girls in Cameroon

In July, 2020, HGC sponsored a French Pastry workshop for at-risk girls in Cameroon, through a local nonprofit called ESARDEF. Below is the Thank You letter we received:

Dear HGC,

Thank you so much for sponsoring our pastry project in Cameroon. Indeed, it is one of the best decision made so far in empowering these girls and young women to be independent especially thru self income generating means as such.

We at ESARDEF remain grateful
