Apna Atheism United Library was launched and funded with a via a collaborative campaign by Atheism United (an atheist-only think tank) and HuMAN.

The library is part of Apna School, which has multiple gardens and sustainability projects. It is owned by a collective, with all decisions agreed upon collectively.

An Indian newspaper wrote an article on the library, here.

HGC in the past has funded:

Student sponsorship for Apna School Computer system, furniture, and food for students at Apna School Watermelon project - profits benefit Apna school

Apna School has 200+ students. Focus on girls education, computer skills & humanitarian atheism.

The mutual aid group has organized three educational workshops: 1) Sex Education for illiterate Dalit girls and women on sex education, 2) girls hygiene, 3) computer skills.

We provide a community lunch every Sunday to 50-60 people. The concept of mutual cooperation taught by HGC has been implemented within the group with mutual monetary donation.

We are now able to teach humanism to orthodox Indian society. Our country is facing severe problems of casteism, fundamentalism and saffronisation from right wing forces. To counter this, we teach the value of humanities and atheism to the students of Apna Humanist School with monthly classes organised to teach humanism to parents.

We are willing to provide community breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus free child care and free pantries. We are also able to start a Humanist Little Free Library.
