Grants for Our Partners

Humanist Mutual Aid Network has 15-20 partners, who receive $250-$300 grants.

Do not send in an application unless you are a partner. We are not accepting any new partnerships in 2024.

Decisions on which proposals get funded, or not funded, are made by the Proposal Selection Team (Cameo Wood, Susan Kuchinskas, Werner Haag, Rick Thomas)

If you are a partner and you wish to submit a proposal, read the guidelines below first, then fill out the application form below, copy it & email it between the 5th-9th of each month to HumanistMutualAid@gmail.com

If partners receive funding, they need to send in a report within 30 days - with photos proving project progress and budget explanations. If this doesn’t happen, the partnership being will be discontinued.

our GUIDELINES

1. Our Top Priority is to always fund humanist organizations and humanists. We do not fund religious individuals or any organizations that conduct prayer sessions, use deity names, or have religious photos or statues displayed. 

2. Partners who distribute our funds must explain to all recipients that we are a not a religious organization but a humanist organization - you need to explain that we trust and believe in people, not god(s), or prayer, or miracles, or any religions. This explanation can be given to the recipients either in writing, or spoken to them. Please send us an explanation in your proposal on what you will tell them, and send us documentation after you do this.

3. We fund any of the following: 1) entrepreneurial projects that deliver sustainability to a humanist group, 2) items that help the humanist group improve the business they have. 3) humanitarian activity that helps other humanists.

4. Proposals must be complete, or they will be rejected.

5. We do not fund animals (livestock), pesticides, hair cutting, baskets, soap-making or fashion design.

6. Proposals are due between the 5th-9th of each month. Decisions are made by the 15th - Funds are sent soon after that.

7. Groups who have misused HuMAN /HGC funds are ineligible for future funding.

8. For project grants, the maximum is 10% in staff costs (travel, stipends, meals)

9. DO NOT send tables or graphs.

10. Send application in an email, or a Word Doc. DO NOT send pdf. Email to humanistmutualaid@gmail.com or Directors@HumanistGlobal.Charity

11. Use US dollars in your budget. Do not send proposals that use naira, rupees, etc.

12. Send proposals with correct spelling, punctuation and capitalization

13. Send excellent photos - in focus, with correct lighting, with recipients smiling. Applications with the best photos have a huge advantage.

14. Never send the same photo twice. We need original photos for every proposal.

15. Please reply to all our questions within 3 days.

16. Projects must be completed within 25 days after receiving funds and reports are due within 30 days.

17. If your group’s proposal is rejected twice by the Selection Team you cannot re-submit. If it is rejected once your group will be given an opportunity to rewrite it with directions as to what is needed.

Explain how to send your group money, using the methods below :

  • Crypto Wallet

  • Paypal

  • Donate button on your website

  • Mobile Money Provider (Airtel, MTN, etc)

  • Bank, Bank Branch name (if there is one) plus Swift Code number (if there is one) or IBAN number + Bank Account Number + your home address, email, and phone number

Send Three Photos - IMPORTANT:

  • 1st photo of your group with the item your group wants, or doing the task your group wants funding for. This photo is for publicity purposes. Your group should send a photo with at least 50% of the members in the photo.

  • 2nd photo of your group with sign saying: THANK YOU

  • 3rd photo of your group with sign says THANK YOU BOB & CINDY -

    DO NOT put both Thank You signs in one photo

  • PHOTOS must be in focus, with adequate lighting, and people smiling. Projects with very good photos have a better chance of getting funded. Good photos usually have many people in them.

  • The photos should not depict women wearing veils, or people with crosses, or wearing religious t-shirts, or any priests or imans, etc. We only fund non-religious people and the photos must indicate this.
